New Leadership Arrangement in the Department of Posts
Secretary (Posts) to Exercise Statutory Powers of Director General Postal Services
The Government of India, Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, has issued an official order regarding the interim leadership arrangement for the position of Director General Postal Services (DGPS).
As per the approval of the Competent Authority, the statutory powers of the Director General Postal Services will be exercised by Secretary (Posts) in addition to her existing responsibilities. This arrangement will continue until a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Current Charge Assigned to Shri Jitendra Gupta
Furthermore, in alignment with the Competent Authority's approval, Shri Jitendra Gupta (IPoS:1989), Member (Financial Services), Postal Services Board, has been assigned the current charge of Director General Postal Services in addition to his own duties. He will undertake this role without any extra remuneration and will continue in this capacity until further orders.

The order, issued by the Director (Staff), Department of Posts, has been circulated to all relevant officials, including:
- Hon’ble Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Communications
- Officers concerned
- Postal Services Board members and senior officials
- Chief Postmasters General and Directors of key postal divisions
- Director, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy, Ghaziabad
- General Manager (CEPT), Mysore, for website publication
