Respected Madam/Sir,
This is regarding the request for convening a supplementary DPC and releasing a promotion list to PS Group B cadre during the current year 2024 in view of the resultant vacancies that have arisen due to declinations, retirements, deaths, and recent JTS regular promotions.
The Directorate has already issued the tentative Zone of Consideration (ZOC) of candidates and the extended field of choice for the vacancy year 2024, vide the reference cited above. The Directorate obtained APARs and Vigilance Clearance for all eligible candidates listed. Following this, a DPC was convened on 21.05.2024, and a list of promotions to PS Group B cadre approving 64 Inspector Line officials was released, as cited in reference 2 above.
However, subsequent to the promotion list:
Some officials retired on superannuation.
Some officials declined promotions for personal reasons.
Unfortunately, some officials passed away.
The list of officers promoted to Junior Time Scale (JTS) of Indian Postal Service was released (Ref: 3), leading to further vacancies in the PS Group B cadre.
An approved panel of eligible Inspector Line officials is likely available, and many are awaiting promotion to the PS Group B cadre. Therefore, it is requested to convene a supplementary DPC at the earliest to fill up the vacancies resulting from:
Declinations,
Retirements,
Deaths, and
JTS promotions.
Early action in this regard is kindly requested so that the promoted officers can assume their PS Group B posts before 31st December 2024, ensuring that they do not miss the current vacancy year.
