The Department of Posts has initiated a comprehensive training program to familiarize its workforce with the updated Post Office Act, 2023. A recent communication from the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Bengaluru outlines the strategic steps for implementing this training across the Karnataka region.
Training Nomination and Objectives
In adherence to the Directorate's directives (ref. Letter No. Tr-13/30/2024-Training-DOP dated 19.11.2024), two officers from both North Karnataka (NK) and South Karnataka (SK) regions were nominated to attend a Master Trainers' Training at the Postal Training Centre (PTC), Vadodara, held from 22nd to 23rd November 2024.
The key objective of this training is to empower these officers to disseminate knowledge regarding the updated regulations under the Post Office Act, 2023 to all departmental employees, including Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).
Implementation Plan
Cascade Training Approach:
- The trained Master Trainers will conduct training sessions for Group A and Group B Officers as well as WCTC Trainers (Workplace Training Coordinators).
- Subsequently, these WCTC Trainers will train all remaining departmental employees and GDSs.
Inclusion of HQ Region Officers:
- The South Karnataka region is tasked with ensuring the inclusion of officers from the Bengaluru HQ Region during the training sessions.
Flexible Training Modes:
- Given the limited timeframe, regions are encouraged to explore online or onsite training methods to maximize outreach and ensure all personnel are trained promptly.
Deadline and Compliance:
- All training sessions must be completed by 7th December 2024.
- A compliance report is to be submitted to the office of the Chief Postmaster General by 8th December 2024.
Key Benefits
This initiative aims to:
- Enhance awareness and implementation of the new Post Office Act, 2023.
- Strengthen operational efficiency across Karnataka Circle.
- Ensure all employees, including GDSs, are aligned with the latest regulatory standards.
