- Implementation Timeline:The mechanization policy, initially introduced on October 25, 2024, came into effect on November 15, 2024. Following a review during the Dashboard meeting chaired by the Hon'ble Minister of Communications on November 29, 2024, the deadline for complete mechanization was set for December 31, 2024.
- Mechanized Delivery System:All delivery beats are to be covered under a mechanized system to ensure timely and efficient postal delivery services across India. Delivery staff are authorized to use their personal two-wheelers, with financial reimbursement for fuel expenses outlined in the policy.
- Progress Reporting:Weekly progress reports on the implementation of mechanized delivery are required from all postal circles. These reports are to be emailed to the Postal Directorate at mailbusinessdte@qmail.com starting December 9, 2024. Submissions must be made every Monday by 12:00 PM, covering the preceding week.
