India Post Invites Applications for Deputation to PLI Directorate

The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, has issued an Office Memorandum inviting applications from eligible Postal Assistants for deputation to the Directorate of Postal Life Insurance (PLI), located at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. This opportunity offers Postal Assistants a chance to contribute to the functioning of one of India’s premier life insurance services while gaining valuable administrative experience.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must ensure they meet the following conditions:
- Probation Completion: Only officials who have successfully completed their probation period are eligible to apply.
- Cadre Restriction: Officials in the LSG Cadre or above are not eligible.
- Deputation Period: The deputation is for an initial period of three years, extendable by two additional years in stages of one year each.
- Lien Maintenance: Deputed officials will retain their lien in their parent Circle/Division.
- No Deputation Allowance: Deputed officials will not receive deputation allowance but will be entitled to benefits like HRA and Transport Allowance as applicable for Delhi (an 'X' city).
Terms and Conditions
- Salary and Service Records: Deputed officials will draw their salary and allowances from the PLI Directorate, which will also maintain their service books and leave accounts. However, service-related matters like promotions and MACP will be handled by their parent Circle.
- Suitability Clause: Officials found unsuitable during the deputation can be reverted to their parent Circle without notice.
- No Absorption: Deputed officials will not be eligible for absorption into the PLI Directorate against any vacant posts.
- Political Influence Prohibited: Applications influenced by political or other means will be summarily rejected, with disciplinary action initiated under Rule 20 of the CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.
Application Process
- Eligible candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format (Annexure-A).
- Applications must be routed through proper channels and recommended by the Divisional Head and Chief Postmaster General (CPMG).
- The deadline for receipt of approved applications at the PLI Directorate is 18th December 2024.
Submission Guidelines
Applicants are advised not to send advance copies of their applications directly to the PLI Directorate. Applications submitted without the necessary recommendations from the concerned CPMG will not be considered.
Proforma Application (Annexure-A)
Applicants must fill out the proforma provided, detailing their personal and professional information, including probation completion, administrative experience, and training history.
Circulation and Information
All Chief Postmasters General are requested to circulate this memorandum among eligible officials in their respective Circles, Regions, and Divisions. The memorandum is also available on the India Post website for reference.
