Declaration of Results: LDCE (66.66%) for Promotion to Inspector Posts (Vacancy Year 2024)

Introduction: The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has officially declared the results of the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) held on 21st and 22nd September 2024 for promotion to the Inspector Posts cadre. The examination aimed to fill vacancies for the year 2024.

Vacancy and Selection Overview:

  • Total number of selected candidates: 128

  • Results of one candidate are kept in a sealed cover.

  • Three vacancies under the UR category are carried forward due to the non-availability of eligible PwBD candidates.

  • Backlog vacancies of PwBD candidates initially accrued in 2023 were also considered.

Answer Key Finalization Process: After the provisional answer keys were uploaded on 23rd September 2024 for feedback from candidates, inputs were reviewed by Moderation Committees. Changes approved by the Competent Authority include:

  • 6 questions: Option change

  • 34 questions: Ignored for evaluation

  • 3 questions: Answer retained as provisional

Revised Cut-off Marks: Based on the finalized answer keys, the revised category-wise cut-off marks are as follows:

  • UR: Revised cut-off - 473.4

  • SC/ST: Revised cut-off - 399.76

Evaluation and Merit Criteria:

  • Selection was based on merit and the earliest year of eligibility.

  • In case of a tie, seniority in the feeder cadre was considered.

  • Candidates with unreadable OMR sheets due to errors in marking (e.g., incorrect bubbling, tampering) were rejected.

Exclusion of Candidates from Previous Results:

  • Results for PwBD candidates from 2019 to 2023 were previously declared.

  • 15 candidates, who had appeared in both previous and current LDCEs, were excluded from this result.

Next Steps for Circles:
