This is regarding GDS online engagement process Schedule, July-2024 low percentage of joining.
2. In this context, it has been observed from the Management Information System (MIS) dated 11.11.2024 of ongoing online GDS engagement process that joining percentage of the newly engaged GDS is very low. The statics shows that so far only 7457 GDS have joined against 32,780 candidates turned up at Engaging Authority (approximately 22.74%) [Copy enclosed].
3. It may also be appreciated that SoP in respect of ongoing Schedule, certain provisions were made therein with a view to expedite the joining process of GDS, which inter-alia, included, the candidate will be given pre-engagement basic training of three days. The selected candidate will need to arrange a suitable accommodation in case of BPM within a period of 30 days from reporting to EA. Failure to complete these formalities or not joining there after due to any reason whatsoever would invite cancellation of the candidature, on expiry of the said stipulated period of 30 days and the post will be offered to the next candidate by unfreezing the said by the concerned EA.
4. Keeping in view of the above, I am directed to request you to to issue suitable instructions to all Engaging Authorities so that GDS selected and undergone training are engaged in accordance with SoP. It may also be ensured that provisional engagement of shortlisted GDS process is not prolonged by the EAs on the pretext of verification of relevant documents/Police verification except the suspicious educational boards for which the office has issued directions. All GDS candidates who have completed the joining formalities as per SOP dated 16.08.2024 , their joining status must be updated on the portal latest by 15.11.2024 without fail so that the DGPS can be apprised of the actual joining status.
