1. Conversion Process:
- Eligibility: Beneficiaries who have turned 18 must convert their accounts from minor to major.
Documents Required:
- Revised Account Opening Form with nominee details.
- KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN or Form 60, 2 passport-size photos).
- Passbook (if issued).
Procedure:
- Sub/Postmasters to inform beneficiaries via phone.
- Beneficiaries must visit the post office with required documents.
- If PAN is unavailable, Form 60 can be submitted; PAN must be provided within 30 days.
- Issue a fresh SB passbook upon conversion if the old one isn't available.
2. PMMIS Account Modification:
- Convert mode of operation from joint to single.
- Issue a fresh MIS passbook to the beneficiary.
- Ensure compliance with the SB Order guidelines.
3. Handling of Passbooks:
- Passbooks for PM CARES accounts (previously managed by District Magistrates) should be retrieved and processed.
- Undelivered passbooks to be handled as per standard procedures (e.g., destruction or transfer to SBCO).
4. Coordination with District Magistrates:
- Divisional Heads to send letters to District Magistrates requesting the return of joint account passbooks.
- Use a registered post for this communication.
