Financial Assistance Components

The CWFGDS comprises three main components:

  1. Financial Grants: Support for various needs, including funeral expenses, medical emergencies, and educational scholarships for GDS children.

  2. Low-Interest Loans: GDS can avail loans at a 5% interest rate for specific purposes such as housing improvements and necessary equipment purchases.

In addition to GDS contributions, the Central Postal Welfare Fund will provide annual contributions based on the number of active GDS. For the 2024-25 financial year, this contribution will be Rs. 175 per GDS.

Audit and Oversight

Annual audits will ensure transparency and accountability in fund management, with reports submitted to the Directorate.
