Introduction

This SOP outlines the process for candidates to apply for the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for promotion to the cadre of Inspector Posts for the vacancy year 2024. The examination is scheduled for 21st & 22nd September 2024. The process is managed through a centralized portal designed for PAN India applications and approvals.

Home Page Overview

  • URL: The URL for production may change. Ensure you are using the correct portal link provided by the Department of Posts.
  • Portal Access: Users must select “Allow this time” before the “Employee Login” button becomes active.

For First-Time Users

  1. Creating an Employee Master:

    • Submit a request to the Controlling Authority (CA) through the portal to create an employee master record.
    • Registration is only possible after approval from the CA.
  2. Registration:

    • Use the “FIRST TIME USER” option to register with your Employee ID after CA approval.
    • Password must be reset using the “RESET/ FORGOT PASSWORD” feature if needed.

Employee Registration

  1. Username and Password:

    • Username: Enter your 8-digit CSI Employee ID.
    • Password Requirements: At least 8 characters long, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numeric digit, and one special character.
    • Re-enter Password: Ensure it matches the original password.
    • Click “SEND MOBILE/EMAIL OTP” to receive a unique OTP.
  2. OTP Verification:

    • Enter the OTP received via SMS and email to complete the registration.

Candidate Login

  1. Login Details:
    • Enter your Employee ID and password.
    • Click “Login” to access the candidate portal.

Candidate Home Page

Upon successful login, you will have access to the following options:

  1. Apply for Exams: Submit new applications.
  2. View Submitted Applications: Check applications that have already been submitted.
  3. View Applications for Re-submission: Manage applications returned for corrections.
  4. Download Admit Card: Obtain your hall ticket for the exam.

Applying for Exams

  1. Application Form:

    • Select Exam Year: Choose the year based on your examination schedule.
    • Exam Selection: Choose from active examinations listed in the dropdown.
    • Mandatory Details: Provide required details including Employee ID, Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID. These fields are auto-filled and cannot be edited.
    • Office Details: Select your working office based on the Pincode and ensure accuracy. Use “Reset Office Name” if needed.
    • Deputation: If on deputation, select “Yes” and choose or enter the correct office details.
  2. Preferences and Uploads:

    • Preference Exam Centre: Choose your preferred exam centre location.
    • Preference Posting Units: Rank your preferences for posting units.
    • Upload Photo and Signature: Adhere to specified size and format requirements for both.
  3. Preview and Submission:

    • Click “Preview” to review all entries.
    • Make corrections if needed and then click “Submit”.
    • Upon successful submission, you will receive a confirmation message and an SMS/email.

Re-submission of Applications

  1. Handling Errors:

    • If an application is returned by the CA for corrections, review the comments and modify the fields marked as incorrect.
    • The “Preview” button will be enabled by default.
  2. Re-submission Process:

    • Correct all errors, review the application, and click “Submit”.
    • After successful re-submission, you will receive a confirmation message along with an SMS and email.

Download Admit Card

  • Admit Card Access: Available once the Nodal Officer processes and generates the hall ticket for eligible candidates.
  • Status Updates: Candidates will receive email and SMS notifications regarding the status of their application and admit card.
