Postponement of Postal Examinations: Administrative Directive from Odisha Circle.
In a significant administrative update, the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, has announced the postponement of scheduled examinations for the promotion of Postal Assistants (CO & RO), PA (PO), and SA (RMS), along with competitive examinations for recruitment from Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs). These examinations were originally slated for July 21, 2024, and have been deferred until further notice.
This decision, mandated by the Competent Authority, aligns with the orders of the Hon'ble Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Cuttack Bench, as per their ruling in OA No. 370/2024 dated July 16, 2024. The postponement directive affects all eligible officials aiming for promotion within the vacancy year 2024 (January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024).
In light of this development, the issuance of Hall Permits and Admit Cards to candidates has been suspended. Any permits or cards already issued are to be collected back from candidates by the respective authorities, adhering to the guidelines provided in the earlier communication from the Office of the Chief Postmaster General.
