Enhancement of Allowances at FSSAI.

Subject: Enhancement of Allowances @25% due to increase of DA rates w.e.f 01.01.2024.
In light of the recent increase in Dearness Allowance rates by 4% effective from 01.01.2024, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) announces a 25% enhancement in various allowances. This measure aims to align with the rising cost of living.
- Children Education Allowance (CEA):
- Existing rate: ₹27,000.00 per child per year
- Revised rate: ₹33,750.00 per child per year
- Hostel Subsidy:
- Existing rate: ₹81,000.00
- Revised rate: ₹1,01,250.00
- CEA for Divyang:
- Existing rate: ₹54,000.00
- Revised rate: ₹67,500.00
- House Rent Allowance:
- The revised rates are as follows based on city classification:
- X: 30% of Basic Pay
- Y: 20% of Basic Pay
- Z: 10% of Basic Pay
- Hotel Accommodation:
- Revised rates per day for different pay levels.
- Reimbursement of Travelling Charges:
- Revised rates for travel within the city according to pay levels.
- Reimbursement of Food Charges/Lump sum amount or Daily Allowance:
- Revised rates per day according to pay levels.
- Journey performed by own car/taxi, auto rickshaw, own scooter etc.:
- Revised rates per km for different modes of transport.
- Transportation of personal effects by road on transfer etc.:
- Revised rates per km according to pay levels.
- Maximum Eligible Gratuity Amount:
- Existing rate: As per Gratuity Act read = ₹20 lakhs
- Special Allowance for child for women with disabilities:

- Deputation Allowance:
- Revised rates for within the same station and outside the station.
This memorandum is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
