In a bid to enhance the skills and efficiency of postal staff involved in handling international mail, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has introduced an innovative online training program titled "Booking of International Mails."
The initiative, developed by the Regional Training Centre in New Delhi under the Mission Karmayogi Division, is in response to the directive from the DDG (IR&GB). The aim is to equip operational staff at Foreign Post Offices (FPOs) and Postal Assistants (PAs) working at counters in Post Offices (POs) with the necessary knowledge and skills for booking and handling international mail.
The E-Learning Program on "Booking of International Mails" is a comprehensive audio-visual online training module structured according to the 'WTDET' model prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Its primary objective is to impart essential knowledge and enhance skills in effectively booking and handling international mail articles. The course covers various topics including the booking process and international mail handling procedures.
This initiative promises to be an invaluable resource for Department of Posts employees, offering a comprehensive course comprising nine instructional videos, fourteen detailed PDFs, and five quizzes. All content is meticulously structured around the WTDET Model, enabling participants to delve into the intricacies of international mail handling and improve their skills within a concise timeframe of just 2 hours and 30 minutes.
All circles under the Department of Posts are directed to ensure the participation of officials involved in the booking of international mail at various counters, including Post Offices, Railway Mail Offices, Foreign Post Offices, and Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras, in this training program. The training will be facilitated through the Dak Karmayogi / iGOT Karmayogi Portal.
This initiative has received approval from the Director General Postal Services, underscoring its significance in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of international mail operations within the Department of Posts.
