No. 93/2/2019-Admn. Government of India Ministry of Communications Department of Posts Administration Section Dak Bhawan, Sansad Marg New Delhi-110001 Dated, 12th January, 2024 OFFICE MEMORANDUM

The undersigned is directed to say that a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary, DARPG with NIC on 2nd January, 2024 to review the status of e-Office. It was been decided in the meeting to make digital signatures mandatory for signing e-Files.


2. CSMOP 2022 also prescribes that"/t is mandatory for all officers of the rank of Dealing officers and above or equivalent to use Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) or e-sign for electronically signing the e-Files" (refer Box -e.7.1 Page - 63 of CSMOP).


3. In view of above, it is informed that thedigital signatures will be made mandatory for use in e-File application to sign and send files.Accordingly, all the Officers/Officials may note that the ‘SEND’ only option will be removed from e-office and digital signature will be mandated w.e.f. 15.01.2024 (Monday).


4, Theuser and implementation guidelines document and the download of Digital Signer Service (for DSC) are available at https://docs.eoffice.gov.in/. All the concerned may also refer to the attached manual for steps to complete e-Sign user registration with e-File application for users who have not registered yet.


5. This issues with the approval of Secretary (PSB).
