Respected Sir/Madam,


It has been clarified by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) that: Gangajal is used in Pooja by households across the country and Pooja Samagri is exempted under GST.


2. In view of the above, the letters No.11-05/2016-BDMD dated 08.08.2023 & 03.10,2023 are hereby withdrawn and there shall be no GST on the sale/distribution of Gangajal through Post Offices & online sale/distribution through e-postoffice portal.


3. Gangajal Bottles of 250 ml will be sold for Rs. 30/- without GST.


This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
