We are writing to bring to your attention an issue concerning thediscrepancy in rules regarding the resignation and voluntary retirement process for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in comparison to departmental employees. We kindly request your intervention to alleviate this disparity and ensure parity in accordance with FRSR/1964 Conduct Rules (CCS Rules).
Recent instances have highlighted a concerning trend where local authorities are compelling GDS employees to submit thelr resignations. These resignations are being immediately accepted without providing any opportunity for withdrawl, effectively depriving GDS employees of their choice and agency in deciding their future. This disparity In treatment is deeply concerning and calls for immediate attention.
It is crucial to establish equality and fairmess between GDS employees and departmental employees when It comes to the resignation and voluntary retirement process. GDS employees snould be provided with the same rights and opportunities including for withdrawal as departmental employees, in fine with FRSR/1964 Conduct Rules (CCS Rules). This adjustment wil empower GDS employees, ensuring thelr voices are heard and their decisions are respected,
We kindly request that you initiate the necessary steps to address this issue and bring about the desired parity between GDS employees and departmental ‘employees. By ensuring fair treatment and equal opportunities, you will not only uplift the morale of GDS employees but also strengthen the overall functioning of the Department of Posts.
