Instructions (Sensitization) relating to dangerous goods prohibited for a transmission at every Post Office booking counter
Subject: Sensitization about issues relating to dangerous goods, prohibited for transportation by air. Dangerous and prohibited items including Batteries, Copra(Coconut), Lighters & E-Cigarettes and compressed Gasses should not be booked at post office counter.

Instances of dangerous and prohibited items including Batteries, Copra(Coconut), Lighters & E-Cigarettes and compressed Gasses still being booked at Post ofice counters / offices, have been brought to the notice of the Postal Direcorate even after the issuance of Instructions of even no. dated 02.05.2021 & 13.05.2021 (copy enclosed),
2. It is requested to ensure strict compliance of the guidelines issued vide aforesaid letters relating dangerous goods prohibited for a transmission, at every booking counter / office in a circle.
3. Since the issue concerns aviaton security an well as of postal articles, Circles must immediately sensitize the field units to ensure that counter clerk as a matter of routine, inform the customers about probed and dangerous goods not be sent through Posts. List of prohibited item should be prominently displayed in Post Offices for general awareness (sample poster attached).
