Government of India Ministry of Communications Department of Posts Business Development Dak Bhawan, New Delhi-110001 Dated: 25 May 2023.

Competent Authority has approved extension of Aadhaar enrolment & updation facily to Branch Post Offices (BOs).


2. In this regard, it has been decided that to begin with, 10 BPMs may be identified in each Circle where BPMs are willing to provide Aadhaar Services from their BOs. For this purpose, idle/inactive kits avalabie in the Circle would need to be relocated to the identified BOs and BPMs would be appointed as verifier as well as the Operator. The detailed SOP and incentive mode will be shared shorty.


3. In view of the above, it is requested to identity at least 10 BOs in the Circle where Aadhaar faciity can be started. Following criteria may be considered for identifying the BOs:


a. Wilingness of Branch Post Master / Assistant Branch Post Master to do the Work related to Aadhaar.


b. Availabilty of adequate space for setting up Aadhaar Enrolment Kits (AEKs) inBOs


c. Availabilty of electricity and high speed internet and network connectivity at BOs to be provided by the BPM. a Safety & security of AEKs wil be the responsibilty of the BPM.


4. This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
