The Competent Authority is pleased to declare the results of the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for promotion to the posts of Postal Assistant (Circle Office and Regional Offices), Postal Assistant (Post Office) and Sorting Assistant (Railway Mail Service) PA/SA from eligible officials of Category A and Category B for the vacancy year 2023 (01-01-2023 to 31-12-2023) held on 12-03-2023 and DEST held on 21 -05-2023 .

2. The provisional and final answer keys were displayed in the departmental website by Karnataka Circle. Directorate vide letter nos. F-No.17-08/2018-SPB-I dated 16-05-.2019, 17-08/2018-SPB.-l`"dated 26-06-2019, F No. 17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 09-09-2..021,1,7-08/2018-SPN-I dated 22-07-2022 and No.17-08/2018-SPN-I dated 19-12-2022 has specified the paper-wise qualifying marks as under:

3. This is a promotional examination and no reseryat.ion in promotion for OBC and EWS candidates, hence, the minimum qualifying percentage of UR category will be applicable for them.

5. The LDCE results are declared based on the Department of Posts (Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant) Recruitment Rules, 2022 issued by Di.rectorate vide F. No. 04-05/2015-SPN-I dated 20-06,-2022, SOP vide letter no. A-34012/02/22-DE dated 11.-08-2022 and Notification issued by this office vide letter no. R&E/1-12/LGO/2023 dated Td 23-01 -2023.
6. in pursuance to instructions contained in Directorate letter No.X-12/6/2021-SPN-II dated 31-12-2021, selection of candidates through examination has been done by preparing a single merit list at Circle Level. The selected candidates have been allotted to the divisions/units as per merit (category wise, UR, SC a ST) vis-a vis order of preference exercised by the candidates subject to availability of vacancies in the Division/Unit.
7. The results containing list.of the successful candidates of Category A and Category B (arranged in the Circle-wise merit. order) is shown in Annexure.
The inter se Rank/merit of candidates has been decided as per Directorate's letter No.04-08/2009-SPN-I dated 11-12-2020. Consequent to this, if there is change ].n the merit list, the same may be communicated to this office for issuing correction. The result i.s also available in the Departmental websites www.indiapost.gov.in or www.karnataka.gov.in
8. Candidates have been allotted to the extent of vacancies notified for vacancy year 2023 except 2 PwBD vacancies viz., 1 "Others" under PA(PO) Cadre and 1 "HH" under SA Cadre due to non-availability of PwBD Candi.dates in the merit list. These vacancies are carried forward to be filled-up I.n the next vacancy year 2024 as per guidelines issued to fill-up PwBD vacancies.
9. The information relating to names of the candidates, their roll numbers and cate'gories have been shown on the basis of information furnished by the Heads of Region,/Division/Unit. In case there are any mistakes in the details of candidate(s), the same may be intimated to this office for necessary action. In case, if it is found subsequently that any of the selected candidate(s) was not eligible to take the examination under the existing ru(es/instructions on the subject or for any reasons or in case any mistake is found with regard to announcement of results of any candidate for any reason wh.atsoever his/her name will be deleted from the list of Successful candidates, as the case may be.
10. In accordance to instructions contained in Directorate's F No.W-17/10/2023-S.PN-I-DOP dated 06-03-2023, the candidates who were declared successful through LDCE for promotion to PA/SA Cadre and had declined their promotion for vacancy year 2022 and have again been declared successful through LDCE for promotion to PA/SA Cadre for vacancy year 2023 should be promoted only after completion of their embargo period as mentioned against their names in the Annexure.
11. The selection of the candidates is purely,provisional subject to the fulfillment of required conditions of relevant Recruitment Rules. It may be ensured that no provisional candidate is eive'n aDDointment without regularization of their candidature. The Divisions/ Reg.ions are requested to verify the current status of the candidature of the qualified candidates before promoting the official. The official/candidate against whom vigilance or disciplinary case is pending/those undergoing punishment should not be promoted and such cases should be referred back to this office as per Directorate's letter no. X-7/6/2022-SPN-II dated 17-05-2023.
12. The provision of reviewing of results of fai.led SC/ST candidates has been revisited by the Postal Service Board a decided to discontinue, as communicated vide Postal Directorate letter no. 4-13.2015-SPB-I dated 08-04-2016.
13. The successful candidates may be directed to accept / decline their place of posting on promotion by 30th May 2023 in the proforma attached, failing which their promotion will be deemed to be declined.
14. All the Heads of units 6f selected candidates should be instructed to take necessary action for joining of newly selected candidates as per extant provisions.
The Divisional/Unit heads are requested not to send separate letter of carrying out joining process/appointment letters to Circle Office. The joining process to be completed on or before 02-06-2023. A consol].dated report to be submitted to this office by Regional Offices on 05-06-2023.
15. Final answer Keys {A, 8, C 8: D series} of the above said exam are already uploaded in the Departmental websites - www.indiapost.gov.in and www.karnatakapost.gov.in This information need not be sought under RTl.
16. Since the examination has been conducted using OMR answer sheets, the request for re-totalling/revaluation will not be entertained. Photo copies of answer papers will be supplied to the candidates on submission of application under RTI Act.
Applications under RTI Act for supply of photo copies of answer papers will be entertained in the following manner.
a). Candidates. who require coDv of their OMR answer Sheet should pay a fee of Rs..25/-per paper with key plus Rs.10/- towards fee for application under RTI Act in the Dost office through proper channel only latest by 22-06-2023.
b) The period of preservation of OMR answer paper is one year from the date of declaration of this result. Therefore applications received after one year for supply of photo copies of answer paper will not be entertained.
c) Photo copies of OMR answer paper will be supplied only to the candidates (self only) who appeared for the examination. Therefore the candidates should invariably intimate their Roll Number in the application under RTI Act.
