This is an initiative of the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications to highlight the important achievements and the best practices adopted by the Department.

This Patrika will be available in electronic format only as an environment friendly initiative and will be published on quarterly basis.
e-PATRIKA will be available on India Post website and will also be publicized through Social Media handles of the Department. The First Edition covers the main events pertaining to the last FY 2022-2023.

MESSAGE
I am happy to note that the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications has launched e-Patrika to highlight the important schemes, achievements and the best practices adopted by the Department.
Recently launched initiatives like Tarang Post, Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra, Mission Karmayogi and Mahila Samman Bachat Patra have been yielding good results. Dissemination of information about various schemes and their success stories will encourage the staff to work harder and achieve better. I am sure Department will continue its march towards delivery of state of art services to the last mile.
I heartily convey my best wishes on this occasion and hope that this magazine will continue to strive for the goal of excellence and the highest standard of commitment in the future as well.

TARANG POST
A step towards (Customer Satisfaction India Post is always trying to connect with the public through its multifaceted services. It is always the endeavor of the Department to deliver the post safely to the common man in the least possible time. In this sequence, the Departmenthas started a new service in the august presence of Shri Devusinh Chauhan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications on 20th January, 2023 which is a latest experiment to delivermail by sea.
This service has been named ‘Tarang Post’ which is clear from the name itself that the transportation of mail will be done through sea, using Ro-Ro ferry service operating between Hazira (Surat) and Ghogha (Bhavnagar).
Impact of Tarang Post:
* Mail transportation time from Surat Bhavnagar - 7 hours; earlier it took 32 hours by road
* Elimination of multiple handling
* Improved efficiency
* 65 tons of mail has been sent so far, which includes mails from Surat, Valsad, Bharuch, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Junagadh.
Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra
(DNK) is an initiative of the Department of Posts and CBIC, wherein the small exporters are able to electronically file a Portal Bill of Export and then present the parcel at Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra for export.
122 Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras (DNKs) have so far been opened in Post Offices.
All Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras have onboarded exporters. 801 exporters have been registered as on 14th March, 2023.
The articles have majorly been booked for destinations like USA, Australia, Britain, Japan, Canada.
TRANSFORMING INDIA INTO DIGITALLY EMPOWERED COUNTRY LAUNCH OF NEFT / RTGS POST-INFO MOBILE APP
Department of Posts has deployed National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) w.e.f. 18th May, 2022.
RTGS functionality for both inward and outward transactions has been deployed w.e.f 31st May, 2022.
DoP has rolled out fully online Passbook facility for all schemes under POSB. Any customer whose mobile number is linked with his/her account can use this facility for balance enquiry as well as for generating account statement.
India Post has introduced facility for registering & tracking of complaints through Postinfo mobile app (Version 3.3.2). The same is available in Google Play Store from 25th January, 2023.
Department of Posts organized AMRITPEX 2023, National Philatelic Exhibition from 11th to 15th February, 2023 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations. AMRITPEX 2023 was organized in consultation with the Ministry of Culture and Philatelic Congress of India.
ROUNDTABLE & PANEL DISCUSSION
“Postal Services: A Tool for Global Socio-Economic Development and Connect”
In the context of India's presidency of the G20, the Department of Posts organized a Roundtable Conference and Panel Discussion on the theme "Postal Services- a tool for Global Socio-Economic Development and Connect". The event provided a great opportunity for industry experts to come together and discuss the future of the postal sector and its contribution to global socio-economic development.
More than 10 lakh Sukanya Samriddhi accounts opened in various Post Offices in a short span of two days during AMRITPEX 2023. The Hon’ ble Prime Minister through his Twitter handle appreciated this initiative of the Department.

Three Postal employees from Gujarat, Telangana and Karnataka Circles were honoured by Ministry of External Affairs for exemplary services in Post Office Passport Seva Kendras.
DAK-KARMAYOGI
First Edition, 2023from ‘Karmachari 'to' Karmayogi ‘ Mission Karmayogi has been conceptualized by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi with a view to bring efficiency in actions of all the employees of Government of India and transforming them into a ‘Karmayogi’ from a ‘Karmachari’. This is a flagship initiative for transformation and the underlying thought of the Mission emphasizes that efficiency of bureaucracy is the key for ‘Minimum Government and Maximum Governance’. As a part of compliance and to realize the objective of Mission Karmayogi, India Post has developed an e- learning portal for enhancing the competence of around 4.5 lakh workforce of the Department.
An online Capacity Building Program for Gramin Dak Sevaks has been prepared, which will enable them to be self-confident and self-reliant. This program is christened as “Gramin Dak Karmayogi”. Looking to the cultural diversity of the nation, all the videos and quizzes are made available in 12 Indian regional languages in this portal to enable each postal trainee to access training content in vernacular languages from anycorner of the country.Total of 4.08 Lakh Departmental Employees and Gramin Dak Sevaks have been onboarded on the portal so far.

RELEASE OF 1st ONLINE TRANSFER LIST OF GDS UNDER LIMITED TRANSFER FACILITY by Director General Postal Services (28-12-2022)
India Post has made tremendous efforts in rolling out online portals for various recruitments and transfers.
Earlier, GDS recruitment was done through manual process wherein a large number of posts used to remain unfilled due to the complexities involved. The process, apart from being complex and time-consuming, was susceptible to various unethical practices and suffered from lack of transparency. Likewise, various transfers, allocation of Circles to newly appointed candidates were tedious tasks which were being

During the 4th Rozgar Mela scheduled to be held on 16th May, 2023, Department of Posts will cover a total of 6003 newly recruited candidates (3403 offers of appointment for Departmental candidates and 2600 offers of engagement for Gramin Dak Sevaks) across the Country.
