With reference to the above mentioned subject, the undersigned would like to intimate that the process of issuance of EMV chip based ATM cards in Post Offices was started in June, 2017 and validity of DOP ATM cards is 5 years. Accordingly, ATM cards printed in June, 2017 are going to expire on 30.06.2022 and such ATM card holders will visit for renewal of their expired cards. For replacement of these cards the replacement charges as per the letter of even number dated 15/09/2021 and 03/11/2021 need not to be collected from customers. As the replacement of the charges are only for the cards lost, blocked, hot listed before the expiry of the cards.
2. in view of the above, the undersigned would
like to share procedure and guidelines for renewal of expired ATM cards and the
same is as under :-
i. It is mandatory for the customer to visit
home SOL to get the new card.
ii. The customer will submit a card issuance
form along with the original card or its photocopy attested by the him/her with
for office record.
iii, The counter Postal Assistant will check ATM card expiry date mentioned on card.
iv. After confirming the expiry date, the
counter PA will hot-list the card and will invoke the card replacement option
available in Finacle and issue a new ATM card.
v. No charges are to be collected from the
customers for renewal of expired card.
vi. The charges applicable for replacement of
ATM cards due to liability on customer's part like damage, loss etc. will
continue to be in force as per the existing rate.
3. In case customer has not brought the card or has destroyed the expired card, the expiry date can be verified by the list of such cards provided by National ATM unit separately. It is requested to arrange to circulate the above mentioned instructions to all concerned for wide publicity and further necessary action at their end.
