Sub: Provision of Facility Profiling and System Assisted Sorting-reg.
This is regarding the functionality of “Facility Profiling” and “System Assisted Sorting” developed in SAP System for performing day-to-day operational work in Mail oXices i.e., Parcel Hub (L1/L2)/NSH/ICH/CRC(L1/L2).
2.In the present environment, there is no provision to configure user defined Sort Programme (Facility master/Pincode mapping) to perform operational work of mail oXices as per the operational requirement or avaiIa“bIe infrastructure. Operational process flow as defined under the PNOP is also being done manually.
3. Functionalities have now been deyeloped in the system whereas the Office as well as operational SET specific facility profiling can be done and accordingly system will assist the operator in doing the sorting work.
4. The purpose of “Facility Profiling” and “System Assisted Sorting” functionalities are as under:
(i) System will have the ability to split a Mail office into the Workstation (Package Trolley) and Bins (Bag stand/sorting case) where mapping of destination oXices can be done.
(ii) The system will be able io assist the operators/sorting Assistant in undertaking primary and secondary sorting operations. At the time of primary scanning of parcels, it will reflect secondary station while at secondary scan it will display the destination of the parcels.
(iii) Revised Bag Closing logic is available where operator will scan the parcels for all the destiñation in a common window and then close the bags for destinations with its bag label.
4. In order to assisVsensitize the operational staX as well as the administrative staff (Set Incharge/Manager/IRM/ASRM/SPO) about this functionality of “Facility Profiling” and “System Assisted Sorting”, a user manual has been prepared and attached as Annexure for reference and to circulate it among the operative staff.
5. Further, it is also requested that instructions may be issued to all Incharge/ Supervisor of the operative offices to use these two functionalities so that the efficiency of operative staff can improve and human errors while sorting can also be reduced.
