Visit of Mail Overseer to Branch Post Office— Regarding.
Respected Sir,
As prescribed, the Mail Overseer is to visit each Branch Post Office in his line once in a quarter and to carry out necessary checks and verification. As part of Digital Advancement of Rural Post Offices for a new India (DARPAN), SIM-based handheld devices have been supplied to the Branch Post Offices and are working in the client applications of the various products and services under the Rural System Integrator (RSI).
Under the changed scenario, the Mail Overseers need to be familiar with the application and to carry out the checks independently and effectively in the digital environment. Imparting sufficient training to the Mail Overseers and issuance of one prescribed questionnaire by Postal Directorate on visit of Mail Overseer with guidelines against each question how to check/verify in the application is the need of the hour.
Therefore, this Association suggests to consider issuance of one prescribed questionnaire by Postal Directorate on visit of Mail Overseer to BOs with guidelines against each question and to examine if Mail Overseers can be provided with Finacle and McCamish ID to carry out the checks independently.
