Incorporation of provision of MIS of void emo in CSI, extension in currency period of emo and the consequent decrease in the time period of void money order till it becomes forfeited emo.
This is regarding incorporation of provision of MIS in respect of void emo to be incorporated in CSI, extension in currency period of emo and the consequent decrease in the time period of void money order till it becomes forfeited emo.
2. In this context, the competent authority has decided as under:
“The currency period of emo shall be increased for further one month from the last day of the following month from the date of issue of an emo to last date of second successive month from the date of issue of an emo”.
3. In view of the above, the following provisions of Postal Manual Volume 6 Part 1 and Postal Manual Volume 6 part 2 are amended accordingly as under:

Duplicate money order issued after expiry of the period of currency of the original money order should, if remaining unpaid, after one month of the date of issue of the duplicates, be disposed of according to the procedure prescribed in Rule 300.
