Grant of Three time bound financial upgradations to the GDS (Gramin Dak Sevaks) of the Department of Posts.
A committee under the chairmanship of Sri Kamlesh Chandra was constituted to study and make recommendation on emoluments and service conditions of the Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). The committee made several recommendations. One the recommendation was grant of three time bound financial upgradations to the GDS on completion of 12,24and 36 years of service.
This recommendation has not been accepted and implemented by the administration. The committee in support of the recommendation furnished statistics according to which a little over 1% of GDS get appointment to the cadre of MTS, Postmen or Postal Assistants. Hence the need for time bound financial upgradation because almost 99% of the GDS retire in the same scale in which they were appointed.
This recommendation is based on social and financial conditions and requirement. With the growing age the children require to be sent to educational institutions for study, old parents require greater medical care and children attain marriageable age.
We, therefore, crave your indulgence to ensure that his positive and humanitarian recommendation of the GDS committee is accepted and implemented.
